George Clinton
& The P-Funk All Stars

One of modern music's most prolific and creative artists, George Clinton was born in Kannapolis, North Carolina on July 22, 1941. His first group, PARLIAMENT was formed in the mid 50's and released a series of doo-wop singles for such labels as ABC and NEW, as well as several unreleased sides for Motown. In 1967, Parliament scored a Top 20 hit with "(I Wanna) Testify" followed by "All Your Goodies Are Gone," both on Revilot Records.

Two years later, Clinton and his extensive network of musicians formed FUNKADELIC, carrying his evolving funk philosophy into more progressive realms and recording (under Parliament, Funkadelic and Parliament/Funkadelic banner) a string of landmark albums over the course of the next several years.

His hits include "Free You Mind an Your Ass Will Follow," "Maggot Brain," Motor Booty Affair," "Up for The down Stroke," "One Nation Under a Groove," "Uncle Jam Wants You," and "The Electric Spanking of War Babies."
