Tone Loc

Tone-Loc alias Tony Smith released his first single "Wild Thing" in 1989. His hoarse voice and a sample of Van Halen's "Jamie's Cryin'" made it to a No.1 hit in the USA. "Funky Cold Medina" followed the same way. The songs were co-written by Young MC. Also the first album "Loc'ed After Dark" hit the top of the pop charts, which was a breakthrough for rap.
